Super Easy Pull Apart Bread

Super Easy Gluten Free Pull Apart Bread

Pull apart garlic bread is one of our weaknesses. It is a great addition to so many meals. Pasta dinners, steak dinners, even as a brunch option. Anytime you would normally have garlic bread you can replace it with a pull apart bread. It also is great for sharing, if you are having people over or are need an easy appetizer, this recipe is super easy and super quick.

The Bread

The gluten free bread that we use is the brand Promise Gluten Free, which you can find in Sobeys. I am not sure if you can find it in other groceries stores, I believe that Sobeys makes it in store but don’t worry it is gluten free. This brand also makes regular loaves of bread, as well as baked goods. There are a few different gluten free breads that we have tried. But the Promise brand one is our favourite. It feels and tastes like a regular gluten filled bread. It also holds up very well unlike many gluten free breads that easily fall apart.

The Cheese

There is a lot of cheese in this recipe. It definitely is not a healthy food but it sure is good. We all deserve a little indulgences every once in a while. You can mess around with the amount of cheese in the recipe if you don’t want as much. You can also use different types of cheese in the pull apart bread. We just prefer a herb and garlic flavour. If you don’t use herb and garlic, you can also add in Italian seasoning in the butter mixture. You can also add some pepper in if you want for flavour.

Instructions
  1. Set your oven to 400F.
  2. Take your gluten free loaf and cut it in a cross hatch pattern. Cut it from one side to the other in parallel lines. Being careful to not cut all the way through, leaving at least an inch at the bottom that is intact. Then turn the loaf and make more cuts perpendicular to the first cuts you made. Again, making sure that you have at least an inch intact at the bottom. Set aside.
  3. Mince or grate the garlic.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine together the vegan becel, shredded herb and garlic cheese, shredded double cheddar cheese and garlic.
  5. Take the butter mixture and start to spread it over the top of the cut loaf of bread. Using a spoon, butter knife or your fingers push the mixture into the cuts of the loaf. Coating as much of the inside as possible.
  6. Cover the loaf in tinfoil and place on a baking sheet. Try to not push down on the top of the loaf with the tinfoil, it is best to make a tent on top so the cheese does not stick to the foil.
  7. Place in the oven for 20 minutes or until the garlic is cooked and the cheese is melted.
  8. Uncover the loaf and leave in the oven for the top to get a little crispy. It is also optional to add a bit more cheese on top and put it under the broiler for 1 minute.
  9. Pull out of oven and let cool for 5 minutes or until cool enough to eat.
  10. ENJOY!
