Our Top 5 Most Anticipated Books for 2021
Today, I am here to bring you our top 5 most anticipated books for 2021. When I decided to write this post I thought it was going to be super easy. In my head I thought there were a ton of books coming out this next year and that I had a long list of books I wanted to read. Well, I was right about having a long list of books I want to read, but the majority of them came out in 2020 and I am just behind on reading them. I feel like my to be read list grows on a daily basis.
However, I have still rounded up 5 books + one bonus book for this post. Four of the books on this list are apart of series but I promise you, all of these series are so, so good. In fact, some of the first in the series for a couple, I mentioned in our last book post, all the way back last March, Books to Read While Self-Isolating. If you’re back in lockdown like we are, or just looking for a really good read. Then I highly recommend you check out that post.
Since all of these books have not yet been released, I obviously don’t have them physically in my hands. I have also not read them, but I will go through a bit about the book and if it’s apart of a series I will touch upon the others in it’s series.
Enjoy the View by Sarah Morgenthaler – January 19th
Enjoy the View is apart of the Moose Springs series by Sarah Morgenthaler. The first two books in this series are The Tourist Attraction and Mistletoe and Mr. Right. I currently have only read The Tourist Attraction but I have Mistletoe and Mr Right, and it is in my TBR pile.
In the first book in the series, you are introduced to the majority of the characters. The main characters in the first one are Graham and Zoey. They are stubborn and witty, but a perfect match. Sarah Morgenthaler has a way of bringing the small town of Moose Springs to life and making you wish you were living there. I expect no different from the rest of the books in this series. Which is why Enjoy the View has made this list.
A Vow so Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer – January 26th
A Vow so Bold and Deadly is apart of the Cursebreaker series by Brigid Kemmerer and is the third book in the series. The first book A Curse so Dark and Lonely introduces you to the world of Emberfall. This book is about Prince Rhen and Harper. I love how Brigid Kemmerer has taken notes from classic fairytales and has created a new story. Kemmerer has also written her main character, Harper, as having cerebral palsy which is freshening and the beginning of filling a major gap in novels today. So often people that have physical disabilities are not written about, and if they are, they are not the main characters.
Apart from the light shown on these types of challenges, Kemmerer has created a world that comes to life so vividly in our minds. This modern day beauty and beast-esque fairytale continues into the second novel, A Heart so Fierce and Broken. This second book continues on with some of the other main characters. So we will just have to wait and see how the story ends in A Vow so Bold and Deadly.
The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren – May 18th
The Soulmate Equation, is the only book on this list that is not included in a series. However, having read a few of Christina Laurens other books, such as The Unhoneymooners and Twice in a Blue Moon. I expect this upcoming novel to be just as good. Based on the description it looks like The Soulmate Equation will bring all the feels just like Christina Lauren’s previous books.
Beth and Amy by Virgina Kantra – May 25th
Beth and Amy by Virgina Kantra, is at the top of my list to read books for 2021. The first book, Meg and Jo was so, so good. Virgina Kantra has taken the classic Little Women and has turned it into a modern story following the March girls lives. The first book as the title suggests, is all about Meg and Jo. While this highly anticipated second book focuses on Beth and Amy. I am so excited to see how Kantra, tells their stories and the mischief they get up to.
Portrait of a Scotsman by Evie Dunmore – September 7th
Portrait of a Scotsman by Evie Dunmore is the third book in the series A League of Extraordinary Women. The first book Bringing Down the Duke is about Annabelle Archer, a young women that attends the University of Oxford in 1879. She gets caught up in a group of women fighting for women’s rights, which then leads her to meet Sebastian Devereux the Duke of Montgomery. A powerful political influence.
The second book in the series is A Rogue of One’s Own, following Lady Lucie, one of Annabelle’s friends from the women’s suffragists group at Oxford. As the women are making headway on their cause. Lucie finds herself caught up in a roadblock at every turn, thanks to Lord Tristan Ballentine. This third book, follows yet another women’s suffragist member, Hattie Greenfield. We will have to wait and see what her story looks like, when Portrait of a Scotsman comes out in September.
Bonus Book
I was going to leave our Most Anticipated Books for 2021 at those 5 books. However, we couldn’t be a food blog without including a cookbook. If you’re a foodie like us then I am sure you will know of Giada De Laurentiis from the Food Network. She has a new cookbook to add to the shelf coming out this March called Eat better, Feel better.
Eat better, Feel better by Giada De Laurentiis – March 9th
No, this is not a gluten free cookbook. I haven’t heard of any new Gluten Free Cookbooks coming out in 2021. If you hear of any, make sure to mention them in the comments below. But even though this cookbook isn’t gluten free doesn’t mean, it may not still interest you. Matt and I buy cookbooks all the time and they are a mixture of gluten free and regular. We do this because it gives us inspiration to create recipes. It is also, allows us to see other regular recipes that we can easily create gluten free. Not to mention many cookbooks have small variations to make gluten free or already have naturally gluten free recipes.
I felt that this specific book was a great addition to this list since it is all about healthy eating, and healing from the inside out. If you’re here because you have celiac disease, then you will know all about needing to heal your insides and especially your gut health. While I am not sure if they book focuses specifically of gut health, any type of healthy eating is super important when having celiac disease. So hopefully when this book releases in a few months, you’re able to get inspiration from it.
There you have it, Our Top 5 (+ one) Most Anticipated Books of 2021. I am sure this list will grow as more book titles are released for the year. This past year was a weird year but I am hoping that with so many people stuck at home, this means our favourite authors have had lots of time to write. Let us know if you are excited for any of these books to release. Or if you know of any other books for 2021 that we should add to our list.
