Gluten Free Treats and Eats is run by a husband and wife team. Matthew and Karlee met in 2012 while attending Brock University in Ontario, Canada. About a year into their relationship Karlee was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. While Matt could have viewed this as an issue, he embraced Karlee’s new lifestyle with open arms.
Matthew is the one who truly loves to cook. He likes creating flavour combinations and watching people truly enjoy the food he has made them. The one person who eats Matthew’s food the most is Karlee. Matthew goes above and beyond making gluten free food and recreating Karlee’s favourite recipes but gluten free.
While sometimes recipes don’t always work out, the two of them continue to test and try until the recipe is perfect. Karlee is the brain behind the blog and also the biggest critic. She will often also get her hands dirty but she mainly takes the pictures, edits and writes down the recipes.
The duo got married in October 2017 and now reside in Brantford, Ontario on a 9 acre property surrounded by forest, with their two dogs, Marlee and Monty.
